We've been looking to provide a higher-quality, spam-free experience at the plugins site for some time, and a major error on our part forced us to shut down the current site before we could put the new one in place. We are developing a new site, and you can follow along with its development on GitHub. blockUI
Simple "Please Wait" functionality. blockUI provides a mechanism for blocking user interaction with a page (or parts of a page). This can be an effective way to simulate synchronous behavior during ajax operations without locking the browser. It will prevent user operations for the current page while it is active and will return the page to normal when it is deactivated.
