We've been looking to provide a higher-quality, spam-free experience at the plugins site for some time, and a major error on our part forced us to shut down the current site before we could put the new one in place. We are developing a new site, and you can follow along with its development on GitHub. TagDragon, the ultimate jQuery autosuggest/type-ahead plugin

TagDragon is a robust, lightweight, fast and beautiful autosuggest plugin that works for both input boxes and textarea controls. Integration is extremely easy and it works across all the major browsers, including FF2, FF3, IE6, IE7, IE8 beta 2, Opera 9 and Safari.

TagDragon takes just a single line of javascript to turn your input box or textarea control into a autosuggest field. There are many options to control the behavior of the controls, whilst also having sensible defaults. TagDragon can be integrated into any backend that speaks JSON, and is well documented.

FlexBox is a jQuery plugin that is intended to be a very flexible replacement for html textboxes and dropdowns, optionally using ajax to retrieve and bind JSON data.

It can be used as a:

  • ComboBox, with optional per-result html templates
  • Suggest box, like Google's search
  • Data-driven type-ahead input box

It supports:

  • Auto-completion using local (JSON) or remote (JSON via ajax) data
  • Skinning via css
  • Flexible paging
  • Configurable client-side caching
  • Much more...
