Plugins

The plugins site is currently in development.

We've been looking to provide a higher-quality, spam-free experience at the plugins site for some time, and a major error on our part forced us to shut down the current site before we could put the new one in place. We are developing a new site, and you can follow along with its development on GitHub. For more information about this transition, including steps you can take as a plugin author to prepare, please read our post about what's going on.

jQuery WebTicker

Creates a scrolling text effect similar to the Twitter Page.

Having released an intial version of my jQuery webTicker and after getting so much success and downloads I have decided to upgrade the ticker and fix some bugs. Please not that there still might be some issues whilst compatibility with IE6 is not guaranteed as it is untested.

Current Version: 1.3
Repository: Github
Requirement: jQuery 1.4.2 / 1.5 or above (note that 1.4.4 is buggy and does not provide good visual performance )

Marquee jQuery Plug-in

The jQuery Marquee plug-in converts a list element (<ul /> or <ol />) into an ESPN-style scrolling marquee. Messages are scrolled in from top or bottom (based on the yScroll option) and longer messages will then ticker to the left in order to show the full message.

jTicker

jTicker takes an elements' children and displays them one by one, in sequence, writing their text in 'ticker tape' style. It is smart enough to ticker text from an element heirarchy, inserting elements back into the DOM tree as it needs them. That means almost any content can be 'tickered'.

jTicker features:

  • jTicker can be declared on any element that has children.
  • jTicker respects the DOM tree you give it, printing it back out with the same element hierarchy.
  • jTicker uses jQuery's events system to respond to "play", "stop" and "control" events.
  • jTicker handles any number of alternating cursors (or just one).
  • jTicker's cursor container is styleable, using the class .cursor, or define your own jQuery object as a container.

TweetQuote

A simple JavaScript plugin, that pulls the latest Twitter Tweets, based on your search terms, and shows them on your website.

Please visit www.tweetquote.co.uk to download and details on how to install, and implement, into your site!

TweetQuote is a combination of Twitter's open Search API and jQuery, and basic AJAX calls. JSON objects are returned from the Twitter API, which are parsed into the quote area you see above. Using an intelligent framework system, TweetQuote will check if you already have jQuery on your website and download necessary the files, from Google's AJAX API. No extra coding needed!
