Plugins

The plugins site is currently in development.

We've been looking to provide a higher-quality, spam-free experience at the plugins site for some time, and a major error on our part forced us to shut down the current site before we could put the new one in place. We are developing a new site, and you can follow along with its development on GitHub. For more information about this transition, including steps you can take as a plugin author to prepare, please read our post about what's going on.

gMap

This tiny line of code is being used to embed a map. Simple, isn't it?
$("#map").gMap();

ZoomMap: Zoomable Interactive Designer Maps

This plugin allows you to create a designer map on your website. The map can be zoomed in, and each level of zoom can be populated with data points that are loaded via AJAX. Each bullet can then open a popup with additional data.

The purpose of this plugin is not to replace Google Maps. It is great when you need to have a custom designed map with information embedded.

ZoomMap is running on dozens of high-profile sites and has been featured in SmashingMagazine.

jMapping

jMapping - Google Maps jQuery Plugin

This plugin is designed for quick development of a page that implements a Google Map with a list of the locations that are specified within the HTML.
The plugin tries to allow as much graceful degradation as possible by having the HTML be as semantic as possible. The plugin expect the HTML for the locations to be grouped under a common element. Additionally, it expects the links and Map Info Window content to be grouped under the location elements. It also expects the necessary metadata to be on the location element. This way the HTML semantically reflects that all of those parts and information are associated with the specific location or place.

Virtual Earth Toolkit

The Virtual Earth Toolkit (VEToolkit) is a set of Controls/Tools/Components that Extend MS Virtual Earth with functionality not implemented within the Virtual Earth JavaScript API itself. One of these components is a jQuery Plugin that allows for a MS Virtual Earth Map to be more easily created using a single method call.

The plugin also contains the ability to very easily attach/detach Virtual Earth Map Event Handlers.
