Plugins

The plugins site is currently in development.

We've been looking to provide a higher-quality, spam-free experience at the plugins site for some time, and a major error on our part forced us to shut down the current site before we could put the new one in place. We are developing a new site, and you can follow along with its development on GitHub. For more information about this transition, including steps you can take as a plugin author to prepare, please read our post about what's going on.

CLEditor - WYSIWYG HTML Editor

CLEditor is an open source jQuery plugin which provides a lightweight, full featured, cross browser, extensible, WYSIWYG HTML editor which can be easily added into any web site.

Lightweight

CLEditor consumes less than 9K of total bandwidth when minified and gzipped.

Full Featured

In addition to the standard text formatting features found in other WYSIWYG editors, CLEditor also contains rich drop downs for font name, size, style, text color and highlight color. CLEditor allows you to insert images, hyperlinks and horizontal rules.

Cross Browser

CLEditor supports the following browsers on both the mac and pc: IE 6.0+, FF 1.5+, Safari 4+, Chrome 5+ and Opera 10+. All testing was done using jQuery 1.4.2.

Extensible

CLEditor provides a rich plugin development environment, allowing you to customize
its user interface and functionality to fit your needs.

jQuery Sparkle - jQuery's DRY Plugin/Effect Framework

jQuery Sparkle is a simple but powerful DRY Plugin/Effect Framework aimed to simplify your jQuery development such that you no longer have to repeat yourself.

http://www.balupton.com/projects/jquery-sparkle

It already includes such extensions as:
- An EventCalendar built upon the jQuery UI DatePicker. (It also supports AJAX for loading events).
- jQuery Plugins for the Bespin and TinyMCE WYSIWYG editors.
- A SingleClick Event to easily capture a single click. Unlike the builtin click which fires for each and every click.
- String.prototype.queryStringToJSON to easily convert a QueryString into a JSON Object. Eg. "file.js?a=1" to {a:1}

Image Editor

In-content WYSIWYG Image Editor

This widget lets you scale, drag and crop images in a full WYSIWYG interface. Unlike other image editors this tool lets you drag and scale the image in its container (instead of dragging a crop/resize tool over the original). The container itself can be resized.

The plugin returns the result parameters in many different forms. The plugin can be customized in many ways. This makes the plugin a perfect extension for any WYSIWYG Content Management System.

Currently the plugin is beta. I will publish detailed information soon. In the meantime, please send me feedback.

Use:
$(".myImage").imageEditor();
myImage can be an image or a wrapper around an image. The second has the advantage that you can add more start attributes via css. (width/height, min/max width/height on the wrapper, and width/height top/left on the image.) The start attributes can also be defined in the imageEditor([settings]) function.

Json Editor

This is a JSON Editor plugin for jQuery, it can init from a json object, transfroming from json to a visual tree , user can modify the tree by appending child node or leaf to a node, insert a brother node or leaf before a node or leaf, delete node or leaf , a json object can be parsed from the tree for programming.

It has 3 kind of states and could be changed easily:

  • init: parse the json to a tree which could be modified just by mouse
  • input : swith the UI to a texteare with the string format of the json object, which is more convenient to edit
  • dump : swith the UI to a div with the string format of the json object

It's easy and simple, see demo :

Tag it!

A nice way to handle a 'tags' input field.

You type tags and when you hit Enter, Comma or Space they will become a little nice formatted box with the value (and there's also a INPUT TYPE="HIDDEN" with the tag's value).

You can click on the boxes to remove them (a little 'x' on the corner).

You can also remove already typed tags with Backspace.

There's also a autocomplete, so if you type, say "jav" it'll appear java and javascript (for example). You can provide the tags you want the plugin to show in the autocomple/suggestion list.

STIQR

Finally a stress-free way of designing your websites. Stop coding and start designing! For the first time ever, you have the ability to decorate your site in a stunningly simple fashion. Just stick and place. With just one line of code, Stiqr turns your website into a roaming canvas.

Stiqr is an on-demand wysiwyg editor widget for your website. Stiqr lets you design your site in a stick and place fashion just as you do with Photoshop, Fireworks, and Quark Express. But all from your browser.

In just one hour, this site itself was built entirely using Stiqr (which could have normally taken several days). The site was pieced together simply by dragging images and texts to appropriate places using the Stiqr interface. This cut development time by more than 10x fold while allowing us to create a visually attractive site without the headaches.
