We've been looking to provide a higher-quality, spam-free experience at the plugins site for some time, and a major error on our part forced us to shut down the current site before we could put the new one in place. "new" inserted at the beginning of every line

Description
When replacing \n with <br> a word "new" is also inserted at the beginning of every line. This creates problems in certain situations. This is only necessary when there is a newline at the end of the HTML inserted into the dummy div. Even then, using a shorter word would be preferred.
