IE shows textarea content in huge font in the top of viewport

When writing text into the textarea, IE 7 and IE 8 Beta start showing the same content in huge size in the top of the viewport. This behaviour starts after typing approx 4 lines of text into the textarea. Could avoid the effect by adding display:none to this.dummy.css. This, however, makes the textarea grow in an unnatural way (that is, the textarea gets very long after typing a few lines).

I ran into the same issue and tracked down the problem to this: I was using YUI3's CSS reset and font reset stylesheets. They both define the font size of textareas as percents (99% or 100%). When this is done, .css('font-size') returns huge numbers (790px with my stylesheet) for textareas.
I removed the font size definitions from the reset stylesheets, which fixed the issue.
