Prev/Next buttons come up even when a Lightbox is open above them

I'm using the Panels Only - Lightbox Style Gallery functionality, which on hover brings up the Previous and Next buttons. However, even if another jQuery lightbox is open and covering the panel, the rollover navigation still comes up on top of everything else.
Anyone know of a way to combat this? I think the way the plugin was written the rollover is triggered by mouse position being over the coordinates of the panel.
