matching not working with multibyte characters

Project:jQuery AutoComplete
Version:1.0.1
Component:Code
Category:bug report
Priority:normal
Assigned:Unassigned
Status:active
Description

When a multibyte character is at the beginning of a word in the lookup string, it is not matched and all kinds of bad things happen.
The problem is with javascript regexp not working well with multibyte characters in general.
Solution:
file jQuery.autocomplete.js
* Revision: $Id: jquery.autocomplete.js 15 2009-08-22 10:30:27Z joern.zaefferer $
line 445 or to make it more clear, the Cache.matchSubset function:
replace:
i = s.toLowerCase().search("\\b" + sub.toLowerCase());
with:
var subPattern = new RegExp('(\\s|^)'+sub.toLowerCase());
i = s.toLowerCase().search(subPattern);

And it will work with multibyte characters.
